Low Compressibility at the Transition Zone of Railway Tracks Reinforced with Cement-Treated Gravel and a Geogrid under Construction

چکیده

In the transition zone of railway tracks, track irregularities occur frequently due to differential settlement, which arises from difference between vertical supporting stiffness abutment and backfill. This is disadvantageous because it increases maintenance requirements deteriorates ride quality. To address this challenge, study proposes a strategy involving application cement-treated gravel reinforced with geogrids rigid facing walls. The subgrade for railways (RSR), can reduce residual settlement through initial construction backfill subsequent development wall, was constructed at as material. long-term behaviors during after on RSR period 16 months were evaluated by analyzing surface ground settlements, horizontal earth pressure, geogrid strain. minor net converges early stage construction, pressure approximately reduced level 54–63% Rankine active pressure.

Compressibility Behavior of Tropical Peat Reinforced with Cement Columns

This paper presents the compressibility of tropical peat reinforced with cylindrical cement columns. When a cement column is installed vertically in peat, its compressibility is reduced because of the hardened skeleton matrix formed by cement particles bonding with adjacent soil particles in the presence of pore water. The effects of the cement column diameter on the compressibility have been i...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...
